So you want to grow your social media followers, but your budget is too small to do this via paid ads? Relax, here are some smart ways you can organically increase your followers today!
1. Lead by Example
Want people and, more importantly, potential clients to follow you? Follow them first! Don’t just follow hundreds of random accounts in one day. On the other hand, be strategic. Find companies, influencers and advocates who have similar interests to you.
To be a part of the community, you should do more than simply follow people and brands in your field. You need to engage with them. Like their photos, write genuine comments on their posts. Comment that would also make sense for your company.
3. Partner up
Now that people are starting to find you online, and you have been engaging with them, it’s time to work on creating relationships that can result in partnerships. Reach out to these companies and develop multi-branded content or contests.
Hashtags are a super powerful tool to help you get in front of the right audience. Spend some time in researching what hashtags are being used in your industry and what makes sense for your company.
Don’t just use #bff or #doggo because it is trending. If it doesn’t apply to your post or company, don’t use it. It would be a waste of an opportunity.

5. Tell a unique story
Give your audience a good reason to follow you, to keep coming back for more, and to keep sharing your content. Find your social voice and create a compelling story that people will find unique, informative or even funny. Strike a chord.
Is your content something YOU would want to see in your social media feed? If not, adjust accordingly.
